Getting the Most out of eBay and Paypal

At the end of your eBay auction, the customer has to make a payment to you. With your new eBay business, you might wonder “how do I get paid?”

PayPal is an electronic company that is utilized through eBay, serving to collect the payment from the buyer’s PayPal account and soon depositing the money into the seller’s account.

Why It is Helpful to Sign Up with PayPal

If you are an eBay seller, once you sign up an account at PayPal, you would be able to take advantage of the services it offers to both sellers and buyers alike. Your sales would likely increase through this means because it is often the payment of choice. Around 90% of all the transactions on eBay make use of PayPal for the mode of payment.

Types of PayPal Account

When planning to set up your PayPal account, you will choose between three levels. First, there is the “Personal Account,” enabling the buyer to transfer funds from their bank account (electronic checks) to the recipient’s account. In this level, neither the buyer nor seller is charged.

On the other hand, if you want to be able to receive debit or credit cards, you may opt for a “Premier Account.” For sellers who receive $3,000 or less per month, the PayPal fee is 2.9% plus 30 cents every transaction, which includes any collected tax and shipping charges.

If your sales volume reaches more than $3,000 every month, you would be able to choose the “Business Account.” With this type of account, a varying lower percentage is charged, along with that same 30 cent fixed rate.

Other Pros with PayPal

Safety-wise, if you are a buyer and are doubtful of the safety of your credit card information, do not fret, for when PayPal is used, they provide a unique transaction number to keep your personal information a secret. PayPal does not reveal your private data to the seller.

One more pro with PayPal is that payment can be made to the seller on a timely basis, thus, the seller can immediately mail the item fast, so that the buyer receives the item as soon as possible. One more thing, which we tackled earlier, is about the buyer’s safety. Through PayPal, disputes can be efficiently resolved if (1) a product was not claimed to have not been received, (2) if the product advertised turned out to be different from what was received, or (3) if the payment mode was unauthorized.

Moreover, if you are using a credit card that offers rewards, you can still acquire these benefits. Likewise, in buying, one does not need to pay additional fees.

Use PayPal

As you see, it is easy for a seller to receive money that is due. Your PayPal account readily receives the payment, allowing you to ship the items once you acquire the payment. Therefore, good customer relationship is established. The client will be able to provide good Feedback once you ship as promised.

The bottom line is, if you have a new eBay business, you can get the best from combining the site with your PayPal account, allowing you to sell your products easily and also, receive payments in a short time span.
