A tasteful and chic bathroom can be achieved by correctly using tiles; it will also be co-ordinated. To insure that the end result is a complete success there are some things you might want to consider otherwise you may end up with a style disaster!
A very effective way of designing a bathroom with style and chic is to use ceramic bathroom tiles. If you choose ceramic bathroom tiles that are exceptionally trendy, they can look somewhat dated in a few years. It is better to use tiles that will never go out of fashion. They will still look chic in the coming years.
One look that has been very popular is a wall of cream tiles (or equivalent) with a band of colour midway up the wall, breaking up the colour and providing a break to the eye. Whilst this still can look stylish, it can be seen up and down the country in thousands: if not millions of bathrooms.
To create lots of colours, the random use of coloured bathroom tile from the same range, can impart colour, but look stylish and contemporary, without creating a style that will easily date.
Square or rectangular bigger tiles can give a very elegant feel to a bathroom and are less time consuming to install than the smaller ones. Mosaic tiles tend to date quite quickly, but look ok around wash and baseness and showers.
Many people try to emulate far posher Bathroom design within a tiny, standard bathroom. If you are tempted to go for the look of the ultrachic hotel bathroom you stayed in when in Paris: don’t! What will happen is that the bathroom simply doesn’t work, if your space is significantly smaller than the original bathroom. Take some of the key features of the bathroom such as the shower, hand basin and copy the style using your own taste and style to guide you in your choice of tiles. This insures the tiles or the correct size for the room.
Sometimes, very large bathrooms tend to have very large tiles: but do not be tempted to go for this look in a small bathroom, since the tiles can make the room look smaller, go for standard rectangular tiles instead.
Thus designing a stylish look with bathroom tiles is not too difficult, but you do need to think about your bathroom, its size and how the tiles will wear and look in the future. Be realistic when designing, you have to be realistic with what you have to work with.
